General
1.1
Parking notices received by City employees while on official business will be
dismissed upon written request from their department head or their designee on
official letterhead. A brief explanation of the business and a request for
dismissal must be submitted to the Finance Department Civil Unit.
Department heads must request a dismissal within ten (10) days of the issuance
of the parking notice, provided that the vehicle was not parked in a restricted
zone. If the employee was parked in a restricted zone they must appear
before a hearing officer.
1.2
In order to avoid a conflict of interest or the appearance of
a conflict of interest, the hearing officer shall not hear matters involving
employees of the Salt Lake City Finance
Department. Those matters will be referred to the City Prosecutor's
Office for adjudication of parking notices.
1.3
In order to avoid a conflict of interest or the
appearance of a conflict of interest, employees of the Salt Lake Legal
Department, i.e. City Prosecutor, City Attorney and clerical staff, will be
referred to the Finance Department Civil Unit for the adjudication of parking
notices.
