1.       General

 

1.1   All insurance requirements for bonds, permits, licenses, contracts, and other liabilities of the City are met and enforced by the department issuing the bond, permit, or license, or monitoring the contract or other liability.

2.       Responsibilities

 

2.1   The Building and Licensing Services Division is responsible for the approval and enforcement of any insurance or bond requirements for licenses including:

 

A.    Auctioneers (all types);

B.    Employment agencies;

C.    Locksmithing and key duplicating;

D.    Package delivery and messenger services;

E.     Pawnbrokers;

F.     Public weight masters;

G.    Tree removal services;

H.    Taxicab operations; and,

I.     Auto wrecking.

 

2.2   The City Engineer’s Office is responsible for the approval and enforcement of any insurance requirements for excavation in the public right of way, street repairs, and scaffold and crane operations.

 

2.3   The Risk Manager is responsible for the approval and enforcement of insurance and fidelity bond requirements for Salt Lake City Corporation and its employees.

 

2.4   The City Attorney’s Office is responsible for the approval and enforcement of insurance requirements for bonds not delegated within this policy.

 

2.5   The Recorder’s Office is responsible for the maintenance of insurance documents for contracts entered into by Salt Lake City Corporation and insurance documents related to subdivision bonds and all other bonds not delegated within this policy.
